Music

Music is a way of uniting people and creating a shared sense of belonging. At Cantrell, we want our children to develop a love of music; this could be through playing an instrument, listening and appreciating a range of genres, singing or composing their own short pieces of music. Music is a way for children to connect with different cultures and traditions. By introducing music from a range of genres, we are encouraging children to think about the world around them and develop an understanding of different cultures within our wider locality. We want to provide a challenging yet achievable curriculum where children can express themselves and develop a love and enjoyment of music. The curriculum and extra-curriculum activities allow all children to have the opportunity to explore, create, play and perform, to develop their skills and appreciate a range of musical forms.
